Coordinating Complex, Crane-Timed Deliveries for a Major Gold Coast Construction Project

ICE successfully delivered a complex, multi-stage logistics solution for Fabritecture, globally recognised experts in designing, making, and installing premium tensile membrane structures. ICE coordinated the unpacking, transport and live site delivery of oversized construction components from three 40’ high-cube containers to a major Gold Coast residential project.

The Challenge

Fabritecture required precise logistics support for a live construction site with limited access and strict crane windows. The freight arrived in three 40’ high-cube containers and needed to be unpacked into specialised steel cradles before being delivered in multiple stages. Weather disruptions, changing site availability and tight morning delivery slots added further complexity, requiring constant coordination to avoid delays and downtime on site.

Our Solution

ICE developed a tailored, end-to-end delivery plan that allowed the project to progress efficiently. Freight was unpacked into custom steel cradles, then delivered in scheduled early-morning drops aligned with crane availability. After each lift, empty cradles were returned to the yard, reloaded and redeployed for the next delivery. Throughout the project, ICE maintained close communication with warehouse partners, transport providers and site teams to adapt schedules in real time as conditions changed.

Results

All deliveries were completed safely and on schedule, despite the live site constraints and evolving delivery requirements. The staged approach ensured Fabritecture could maintain momentum on site, minimise crane downtime and keep construction activities moving without disruption. The project highlighted ICE’s ability to manage complex construction logistics through careful planning, flexibility and hands-on coordination.
